Advances in hair straightener technology give you smoother, healthier
and shinier hair.
Things have moved on since the days of heating up irons in a special
heater or using a hot comb. Although I am sure you can still get your
hands on these originals, hair
straightener technology has meant it is now easier than ever to straighten
our hair in the home, no matter what hair type. Most of the top brands
like Solia flat irons, Sedu, Bion etc have embraced the following advances
in most of their models.
The real advances over the years has been the plate materials which now
includes ceramic, and tourmaline (a precious gem). One of the main reasons
for using these materials is that not only can they be made to be very
smooth but they also electrical qualities which enables better results
when straightening your hair.
Let me explain. Dry, damaged
and frizzy hair has a positive ionic charge. In order to balance that
you need a negative ion ceramic plate to neutralize the charge in the
hair and thus create smoother, shinier and calmer hair. Tourmaline/ceramic
plates provide up to 6 times more negative ions than other flat irons
and as a result they give much better results in a shorter time period.
Some of the top end models also use Infra Red technology. Infra Red radiation
produced from high temperature ceramic plates can assist in seal the moisture
in your hair so that your hair does not loose its condition. Ionic technology
helps break down the size of the water molecules on the hairs surface,
making them smaller and easier for the hair to absorb. This can actually
improve the condition of you hair. A combination of both Infra Red and
Ionic technologies can add moisture to your hair and then seal that moisture
in.
Most of the top hair straightner models, Sedu, Solia, Bion and many more,
use a combination of the new technology in at least a few of the models
on their range if not all. A good example is the "Sedu
Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron", and I haven't made that
up. That's how it's named in the online stores that sell it. I'm just
hoping the next advancement isn't anything to do with nuclear technology.
