The
Chi, according to its makers is "Designed for hairdressers, this
professional hair straightener features patented scratch-resistant ceramic/tourmaline
plates". This is top quality flat iron used by professional stylists but does not carry a high price tag.
Cost: The Chi Pink is certainly not one of the most expensive
ones on the market and it is well worth the money. Their Limited Edition model costs $114.95 and has FREE shipping. It also comes with additional hair products and a FREE Heatproof Pouch.
Construction: One of the things I look for in a good
flat iron is how well it is made and how comfortable the iron fits in
my hand. I have tried irons that are too 'slim' and you can't handle the
iron for too long without having to re-adjust it in your hand or because
the materials were so thin the heat became too much to handle. The Chi
Pink Iron is just about the right size and with the 'big' head it
ensures a quick hair straighteneing session. It is also nice and light
which obviously means you can hold it for much longer without having to
keep stopping to rest your hand.
As the plates are made of ceramic
it also means that the plates don't scratch that easily and will last
an awful lot longer. Another friend of mine has had one for over 1 year
and it still works like it was taken straight out of the box.
And another bonus is the 10 foot long electrical cord. My electrical socket is in an awkard position but with a long cord I can now sit wherever I want and finish my hair in comfort.
Hair straightening ability: Of course a flat iron
may look good, feel good in your hand and heat up in minutes but can it
do the job? I have thick and dark curly hair. And boy can it get
curly! Some irons can straighten real well but can still leave your hair
'frizzy' even with good shampoos and conditioners. The Chi
Pink iron just glides through the curliest of hair, due to its excellent
plates and precise temperature controls. And it is guaranteed not to tug
or pull your hair, like on some cheaper models.
However, as with any flat iron you must be careful not to use too high
a temperature setting as it can be harmful if you use it on too fine a
hair.
In terms of straightening ability I would have to give it a 9 out of 10. I've used the Sedu, another great iron and that only got an 8 out of 10.
Conclusion: The Chi Pink Iron really is a great flat iron and like most good flat irons it is worth paying for a good
quality flat iron rather than buying several cheaper inferior models. BUY
the Chi Pink iron now and you will not be dissappointed.
